Do Pumpkin Cat Games work offline without Wi-Fi for flights and travel?
Yes, all games run completely offline in Airplane Mode. The application is entirely self-contained with no Wi-Fi checks, DRM verifications, or login requirements, making it ideal for 11-hour flights and long car journeys.
Can toddlers play without getting trapped behind pop-ups or mis-tap adverts?
Yes. Mainstream children's apps frequently frustrate toddlers with hairline 'X' close buttons and accidental App Store redirects. Pumpkin Cat Games features zero adverts, zero external links during gameplay, and large touch targets to prevent 'trapped on screen' tantrums.
Why don't you offer an expensive 'VIP Pass' or subscription tier?
We built Pumpkin Cat Games specifically to reject predatory freemium tactics that lure children with cartoon characters only to lock 90% of activities behind £30+/month subscriptions. We believe families deserve honest software where the complete experience is included upfront.
What age group are these games suitable for?
Our games are designed for ages 2–11 and beyond... Many of these are classic tabletop and strategy games that families can enjoy together, and good games can truly be enjoyed at any age — it's all about mindset! ;)
Can two children or a parent and child play together on one device?
Yes. Several games—including Four in a Row, Squares (Dots & Boxes), and Tic Tac Toe—feature local two-player pass-and-play modes on a single phone or tablet screen, encouraging shared laughter, real turn-taking, and family conversation.
Does Pumpkin Cat Games request device permissions or harvest data?
No. Our apps request zero device permissions—no access to camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage. We collect zero analytics telemetry, zero IP addresses, and comply strictly with COPPA, UK & EU GDPR, and the UK ICO Children's Code.
How do the parental controls work?
Settings, daily screen-time limits, and optional creator support links are protected behind a mandatory 6-digit adult PIN gate. Children cannot bypass this gate to alter rules or navigate away from the safe play zone.
If the games are completely free with no adverts, how is this project funded?
Pumpkin Cat Games is an independent passion project created by a dad (Drew Harding). It is sustained through smart choices for development and distribution and funded directly by Drew. If you are a parent that values safe, ethical software for their children, there is an optional adult-only 'Buy Me a Coffee' donation section should you wish to contribute.
Is Pumpkin Cat Games available on iPad and iPhone (iOS)?
Pumpkin Cat Games is currently available on Android devices via the Google Play Store. Unlike Android, Apple requires an ongoing $99/year developer fee even for completely free apps that have zero adverts. As an independent passion project funded out of pocket, that recurring cost isn't viable right now. If circumstances change or community support grows in the future, we would love to bring it to iOS!
What makes Sea Search different from traditional naval combat games?
Sea Search is reimagined as a gentle, family-friendly game of ocean hide-and-seek. We removed combat, sinking, military terminology, and explosions, focusing purely on spatial grid deduction and discovering the opponent fleet first.
